Hassan, a right handed hitter and thrower, was converted to strictly outfielder by the Red Sox after a successful stint in the Cape Cod League. Alex was a two way player at Duke, where he was the left fielder and closer for the Blue Devils.
Hassan had a great week starting with Opening Day, going 2-3 with 2 RBI. He finished the Phillies series going 8-14, 2 R, 4 RBI, 2 BB, 2 SB .571 AVG/.611 OBP/1.182 OPS. Another number that jumps out, he hit .750 with RISP. Put that all together, and well deserved Hadlock Headlines Player of the Week.
