Tough outing for Alex Wilson, Dogs lose to Mets 5-3.

Alex Wilson got his 1st taste of failure this season, giving up 5 earned runs, 4 in the 1st. Wilson showed his toughness even though he lasted only 3 innings.

After getting out number one in the 1st inning, Wilson allowed back to back singles. The big blow of the inning came as Brahiam Maldonado slammed a 3 run home run to make it 3-0 Mets. Wilson gave up another run in the inning.

The Sea Dogs got a couple back in the 3rd, but Mets pitcher Mark Cahoon was dominant all night, striking out 11. Ryan Dent got things going for the Dogs with a double. Che-Hsuan Lin singled home Dent in the next at bat. Red Hot Alex Hassan, who extended his hitting streak to all 11 games so far this season, got the bat on the ball, allowing Lin to score on an infield error.

A solo HR for Binghamton made the score 5-2 and Binghamton pitching took over the rest of the way.

As this Sea Dogs team does, they rallied in the 9th, putting a little pressure on the Mets. Alex Hassan walked to open the Dogs 9th and moved to 2nd on a passed ball. After Tim Federowicz flied out, Ryan Lavarnway walked. After a pitching change for the Mets, Jorge Pardon grounded Lavarnway into a force out, but moved Hassan to 3d. Will Middlebrooks singled home the final run of the night, making it 5-3 Mets. Oscar Tejada grounded out, ending the Sea Dogs threat in the 9th.

The Sea Dogs return home tomorrow night,  game time 6PM
