OFFICIAL PORTLAND SEA DOGS GAME WRAP
The Sea Dogs hadn't been swept in a four-game series to New Hampshire since 2007, and Luis Exposito made sure that held true. The Sea Dogs' catcher drove in three of the team's four runs, including an RBI double in the top of the ninth, as Portland picked up a 4-3 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Merchantsauto.com Stadium.
After a scoreless first inning, the Fisher Cats struck first in the second. Shawn Bowman led off with a double, and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Manny Mayerson. Adam Loewen was next at the plate, and he hit a ground ball to first baseman, Anthony Rizzo. Rizzo elected to throw home, but Bowman beat the play, scoring the first run of the day.

One inning later, New Hampshire added to the lead. After Callix Crabbe popped out to first, Adam Calderone made his presence felt yet again. The Fisher Cats' center fielder launched a solo home run to right field, giving him four long balls and nine RBI in the four-game series.

The score stayed that way until the top of the sixth, when the Sea Dogs scratched their first run across. Ryan Kalish started the inning with a walk, and moved all the way to third on Anthony Rizzo's single to right-center. Ray Chang picked up the RBI, flying out to center field in a deep enough area for Kalish to score with ease.

In the seventh inning, Portland took the lead off of reliever Adrian Martin. After a ground out by Chih-Hsien Chiang, the visitors got back-to-back baserunners, as Nate Spears and Che-Hsuan Lin both received walks. Two batters later, Luis Exposito scored both of his teammates, smacking a two-run double off of the right field wall.

The Sea Dogs' bullpen was also unable to hold the lead, as the Fisher Cats tied the game in the eighth. After two quick outs to start the inning, Santo Luis allowed a walk to Shawn Bowman. Manny Mayerson stepped up next, and proceeded to drive home Bowman with a double to left field.

Despite allowing the run, Luis (2-1) was able to get the win, as Portland regained the lead in the ninth. Nate Spears walked, and moved to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Che-Hsuan Lin. After an intentional walk to Ryan Kalish, Luis Exposito picked up another RBI double, putting the Sea Dogs ahead, 4-3. Danny Farquhar (0-1) allowed the run, suffering the loss.

Jason Rice allowed a leadoff single to Jonathan Jaspe, but was able to finish the game with a scoreless ninth inning, giving him six saves on the season.

As for the starting pitchers, Stephen Fife tossed six innings for the Sea Dogs, allowing two runs, six hits, and two walks, while striking out two. New Hampshire starter Randy Boone went five and one-third innings, allowing one run, four hits, and four walks, while striking out four.

The Sea Dogs will have Monday off, before returning to Hadlock Field for a seven-game homestand. The first of those games takes place at 6:00 on Tuesday night, as the New Britain Rock Cats make their second visit of the month. Felix Doubront (3-0, 3.00) will take the hill for Portland, opposed by New Britain's Carlos Gutierrez (0-2, 4.38).
